Change?

4 09 2008

I feel that urge to change my blog to another host site? Lol. WordPress won’t be very happy to see this on their very own websites.

A few options for me to choose from:

  1. Blogger
  2. Xanga
  3. MySpace
  4. LiveJournal
  5. Multiply

Lightyears?

4 09 2008

It seems like lightyears away since my previous post to this post. Haha… It has been a really long time since I blog, but it feels homebound to be able to do so again.

Recently, I just came up with a phrase that really encompasses the vision and goals of C50.

Cfiftyseeingfifteend2008

I got my inspiration from the Nokia N78 advertisements you see in the MRT stations.

songpsurfind

The Nokia tag line has a better combo than mine, but mine looks more faith-filled. Lol.

I also found myself hanging out in the admin office for these past few days. It seems like there is a invisble magnet that draws me there. The atmosphere, the surrounding, the environment, the buzz, the interaction is simply made in hoGc. It just feel so easy just to sit there for a few hours and I realised that I have completed all my work.

However, at home, I realised that I can take long hours to do just a simple task. There’s something intangible in the office, that creates that workflow in me, to be disciplined enough to settle all my task before I take a break.

Hmm… What’s that unseen force of attraction that exists in the office? Maybe it is the inbitation of God in the office. May the force be with you, young Padawan!

The presence of God is like still waters that calms the storms

The revelation of God is like might waves that sweeps us forward

Eyes have not seen, Ears have not heard, our hearts cannot imagine what God is going to do in and with hoGc.

Epitome of “God-ness”

25 08 2008

In the darkest hour

You are the Light that shines

In the weary desert

You are the Rain that supplies

In the drowning quicksand

You are the Saviour that rescues

In the condemning prison

You are the Redeemer that ransoms

In the endless war against the world

You are the Peace that calms

In the desperation of circumstances

You are the Hope that leads me on

Never will I leave You

For there is none like You

Never will I turn my back on You

For there is none like You

My Greatest Honour will always be to serve my Lord and King

To see my friends go is a pain in the heart, but I stand firm on the belief that God – You are all I need.

My Greatest Honour, indeed. Amen.

iPhone delayed

22 08 2008

Wow… A frantic rush down to Somerset ComCentre to get my hands on my long-awaited iPhone turned out to be an eventful one.

I FOUND OUT THAT I BOOKED THE WRONG DATE FOR MY COLLECTION. I thought I selected 22 August, but instead I did 29 August. Dang! What a let-down…

Now, I have changed my collection date to 27 August, which isn’t too bad after all. Maybe God is saying to me, “FULFILL YOUR BUILDING FUND FIRST!” I already have enough money to complete my building fund and I think I should probably get this done before I get my iPhone.

My Pledge to God comes first…

A New Banner

21 08 2008

Hey! Spot the banner above? Haha… It’s my very own creation. I think it looks great and fits nicely into my blog design too. You can leave your comments on my tagboard to the right. Thanks!

I just remembered 2 jokes by my A Math teacher when I was in Secondary School. It goes like this:

Question:

Expand (x+y)(x-y).

Answer:

(x+y)(x-y)

The next one is hilarious too.

Love?

20 08 2008

People say that love is blind. I disagree, because Love set His sight on us before we were even born.

People say that love hurts. I disagree, because Love was hurt on the tree and died for us.

~ Christopher

Self-Leadership

20 08 2008

Many a times, I thought that leadership was an “others-centered” quality that people have and that unique ability to influence others. But on the flip side of the coin, there’s something much more to it. And the revelation came from none other than a man who preached even though he was injured, Pastor How.

To be able to lead others, lead yourself first.

Yes, Leadership is still about “others”, but to truly lead other people, you first must have your own life in order.

“Leadership is not about giving people instructions,

Neither is it giving people directions,

But rather, showing people an illustration of your own life.”

To put it simply, you lead by example. You lead not just with empty words of command and delegation, but your lifestyle, your actions, your mindset, your emotions, your will, your character and so on. Let these things do the talking instead.

“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”

~ 1 Timothy 4:12

Have leadership over your own mind. Don’t dwell on the negative, embrace the postive. Many people complained that their lives are completely messed up and there’s nothing that he/she can do to turn it around. But be thankful for who you are, what you have, and who you can be in the future.

“Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns. I am thankful that thorns have roses”

~ Alphonse Karr

The fact is that our human brain retains bad memories better than good moments of our lives, but still the ability to think positively is very much a decision that can be made and something that can be done. It is all up to oneself.

“If you keep on saying things are going to be bad, you have a good chance of being a prophet.”

~ Isaac Singer

The Holy Spirit can give you the gift of prophecy, but so can Negativity offer you such “power”. It’s your choice on what kind of a prophet you want to be, a bringer of good news, or a bringer of bad news? The bible reflects this principle in the book of Proverbs.

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”

~ Proverbs 23:7

At the end of the day, the greatest battle lies within. As much as Jesus is the master of our lives, God gave us the power of choice, and therefore, we are the master of our own thoughts. So today, will you take leadership of your mind, your emotions and your will?

More Quotable Quotes

17 08 2008

God is a trans-generational and a transitional God, and so should a church be bridging the generations and progressing at the same time.

~ Christopher

A leader of a lifetime is a leader of followers.

A leader of generations is a leader of leaders.

What makes the difference? Reproduction.

~ Christopher

There’s only one mathematical equation that I disagree with,

And that is none other than [Negative x Negative = Positive].

Negative thoughts unto more negative thoughts brings about a catastrophe.

~ Christopher

If they say that “an empty mind is the devil’s workshop”, a negative mind would be the devil’s playground.

~ Christopher
